Sarah Rathbun

MA, LMFT

Sarah is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina. She has a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston Clear Lake and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. In her free time, she enjoys working out.

Sarah primarily works with teen girls and young and middle-aged adult individuals. She also has experience working with couples and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Sarah specializes in anxiety disorders, attachment issues, and self-esteem. She provides treatment for grief and loss, managing trauma symptoms, depression, life transitions, and career concerns. In addition, Sarah provides Christian or spiritually integrated psychotherapy when requested by the client.

Sarah focuses on creating a supportive environment and provides a safe space to help clients create positive change in their lives. Sarah believes in continuing to normalize the importance of mental health, and that it is okay to not be okay and ask for help. She views issues through a systemic lens, i.e. Sarah considers the systems surrounding the client that make up and affect their overall experience. She uses Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman techniques, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and also incorporates solution-focused methods and Mindfulness.
