Sarah Rathbun

Sarah is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina. She graduated with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston Clear Lake in Houston, Texas and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks and working out.
Sarah has experience working with teens, adults, and couples from diverse backgrounds. Sarah specializes in couples therapy as well as individual therapy for adults and adolescents. She has worked in outpatient settings and private practice. Sarah provides treatment for unmarried and married couples struggling with relationship and communication issues. Sarah also provides treatment in areas of anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, and self-esteem. In addition, she provides faith-based or spiritually integrated psychotherapy when requested by the client.
Sarah focuses on creating a client-centered and supportive environment and provides a safe space to help clients create positive change in their lives. She utilizes evidence-based practices including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman techniques, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused and Family Systems modalities.
