Mackenzie is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA). Mackenzie graduated from East Carolina University (Go Pirates!!) in Greenville, NC in 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health – Pre Med with a minor in Psychology and Nutrition. Mackenzie earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Walden University in Minneapolis, MA in 2024 with a certification in Addictions. Mackenzie has worked with clients experiencing substance and alcohol abuse as well as spent countless hours in research, training, and counseling clients of all ages with eating disorders.
Mackenzie enjoys working with adolescents, teens, and adults. She has a passion for working with client’s who are struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, low-self esteem, substance and alcohol use disorders, anger management, anxiety, depression, and the LGBTQ+ community. Mackenzie joins her clients in their day to day struggles, helping them to regain their sense of self while grieving the loss of who they once were. She also helps clients to learn to trust their own judgement again and move through the healing process, primarily by helping clients get set up with all the resources they need to make a successful journey into recovery. During our session, Mackenzie will use a variety of therapeutic techniques that she is trained in to meet the individual needs including interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy.
Mackenzie wants all of her clients to feel comfortable and focuses on a person-centered approach to best support her client’s and their needs. Providing a safe space and creating an environment of inclusive support and acceptance are of high value to Mackenzie. Mackenzie lives in Johnston County with her dog, Duke who happens to be a registered therapy dog. In her free time, she enjoys paddle boarding, traveling to the beach or mountains, spending time with family, and volunteering in her community.
