Katie Hardy

LCSW

Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Appalachian State University. Katie attended a joint Masters of Social Work program at NC Agricultural and Technical State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Katie’s experience in the mental health profession includes working in a group home for adolescent females, working in community mental health providing services for children and families in their homes and outpatient therapy.

Katie has experience working in high crisis situations and employs an eclectic approach when meeting with client’s. She mostly utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but is also trained in ESFT (Eco-Systemic Family Therapy) and Triple P (Positive Parenting Programming). Katie enjoys working with children, adolescents, teens and young adults. Katie has a passion for working with client’s who are on the Autism Spectrum and also with client’s who have anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, life transitions, the LGBTQ+ community, and those who need support with communicating and expressing themselves to others. Katie provides a judgement free zone when working with client’s and their families, and focuses on building rapport when first meeting client’s to build a therapeutic relationship.

Katie wants all of her client’s to feel comfortable and focuses on a person-centered approach to best support client’s and their needs. Providing a safe space and creating an environment of inclusive support and acceptance are of high value to Katie. Katie lives in Garner with her dog, Winston. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, traveling to the beach, reading books and eating good food.
