Ilaria is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and EMDR Trained Therapist. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Hispanic Studies from East Carolina University. Ilaria utilizes an integrative approach to cater to each individual’s treatment goals using various therapeutic approaches, including, but not limited to, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR Therapy), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness skills. Ilaria works with individuals ages 13 and up from all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. She has experience working with severe and persistent mental illnesses, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, adjustment issues, crisis interventions, new parents, family issues, self-harm, adolescent life stress, traumatic experiences, and life transitions. She is also trained to practice EMDR, an evidence-based trauma treatment modality. She has a passion for helping individuals recognize the strength and resiliency they already have within to overcome any challenge life may throw at them. Ilaria’s goals consist of creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can process experiences, increase their self-awareness, heal, and grow. In addition to English, Ilaria grew up speaking Italian and Spanish and is conversational in both. She welcomes clients who are English language learners or who struggle to communicate solely in English. Ilaria enjoys spending her free time with her daughter, reading and traveling.
