Hilary Norris
MSW, LCSW
Hilary is a Raleigh native and graduated from Meredith College in 2001 with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Minors in Psychology and Spanish. She then went on to East Carolina University in Greenville, NC to graduate with a Masters Degree in Social Work in 2003. She received her license to practice clinical social work in the state of NC in 2008.
Hilary has over 15 years of experience and has had the opportunity to work with all ages in varied settings; community mental health, managed care, private practice, and inpatient medical and psychiatric hospitals. She feels most passionate about working with couples and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship/family/occupational stressors, caregiver burnout, grief and loss, low self worth, codependency, parenting, gender dysphoria, and childhood emotional neglect. Depending on individual needs, Hilary may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength-Based, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Attachment Theory, or Systems Theory.
Hilary believes it takes a lot of courage for a person to be able to use the discomfort of life’s challenges to grow, and make changes in ways of thinking that allow for a more healthy, positive, enjoyable life. She believes that we are all perfectly imperfect and creates a nonjudgmental, comfortable atmosphere that makes it feasible to open up and share.
