Cathy Mullins

LCSW

Cathy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers with over thirty years of experience in a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatry, outpatient counseling and school social work. This experience has given her a broad and thorough understanding of mental health challenges for both adults and children. She has experience working with a range of socio-economic populations, cultural and ethnic groups and all are deserving of a fulfilling and happy life regardless of their status.

Cathy utilizes a strength-based, psychodynamic approach incorporating cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, trauma-informed care and evidence-based strategies to help clients better understand themselves and create goals for personal growth. She has extensive experience in helping people with depression, anxiety, PTSD, family/partner relationships, parenting, grief, care-giving support, career challenges, ADHD, women’s issues, life transitions and understanding the mind-body connection to improve overall wellness. Cathy values creating a safe space to meet clients “where they are” with kindness and respect. Together, you and Cathy will work to find solutions that will reduce stress, create hope, a better self-understanding and offer opportunities for growth and resilience. She believes that personal growth is a lifelong journey, and no one is ever too old to begin something new, learn more about themselves or to make changes in their lives to achieve their aspirations and find inner peace whatever you envision that to be.

Cathy earned a Master of Social Work with a concentration in clinical work from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, MA and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, NJ.
