Briana Dicks
LCMHCABriana is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. She earned her Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Walden University and her Bachelor of Psychology degree from The University of Central Florida. She is also an advocate for the destigmatization of mental health care and is committed to improving the access of mental/behavioral health treatment for all.
Briana believes that mental health counseling should be firmly rooted in creating a safe, non-judgmental environment, where you can openly explore your feelings, and experiences. With a person-centered approach, you will work together to set goals, explore resources, and create a personalized care plan. Briana will tailor therapeutic methods to each client’s specific needs drawing from evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and internal family systems (IFS). Passionate about promoting resilience, rest and self-compassion Briana encourages clients to explore their strengths, celebrate their differences and overcome challenges.
Briana has had the privilege of working with diverse populations across various age groups, cultural backgrounds, and life stages. Being known for her compassionate and sensitive approach, Briana has supported clients through a wide range of issues, including: ADHD, anxiety, parenting, self-esteem, sexual abuse, trauma, OCD, maternal mental health and postpartum, depression, bereavement/grief, LGBTQIA+, separation/divorce, stress management and communication skills.
Briana found the mental health field early in her own life journey by attending counseling and learning from others. This, along with becoming a mother, inspired her to enter the mental health field. She deeply values rest and in her free time can usually be found napping, befriending cats, thrifting while listening to a podcast, or being cozy under a heated blanket reading a psychological thriller.
