April Showers Bring May Flowers

Leading From The Heart

The pollen has been intense in NC to say the least! It’s brought out allergies that people didn’t even know they had! I’ll be so thankful when I can drive down 40 and not see a yellow haze!

All this pollen and I’m reminded of the saying, “April showers bring May flowers”.  I used to freak out at bees when I was a kid and my mom would say, don’t be afraid of the bees, they help the flowers grow.  What a lovely spin on something that feels scary.  Bumble bees can sting, but they also help flowers Grow.

Isn’t that how it goes in life?  Something that feels like a sting can often help you Grow.  As helpers of people, we are tasked with helping them see a way through the hard and find growth on the other side.   But we too, have to remind ourselves of this reframe.  Something that feels scary, uncertain or even stings, can also produce beauty and growth within us.

Whatever showers April has already brought you, or maybe March went out like a lion in your life -not like a lamb- do remember to remain hopeful that May flowers will still come.  The pollen will disappear.  Our beautiful North Carolina spring is upon us. And remember “bees help the flowers grow”.
