Most One-Eighty Counseling providers are trained and experienced in offering teletherapy services. Teletherapy, sometimes referred to as telemental health, allows clients to meet with a licensed mental health professional through secure video technology rather than in a traditional office setting.
For many people, teletherapy offers flexibility when distance, scheduling demands, transportation challenges, or health concerns make in-person sessions difficult. Others simply find that meeting remotely allows therapy to fit more naturally into daily life. Teletherapy may be available to both new and established clients, depending on provider licensure, clinical appropriateness, and scheduling availability.
Sessions are conducted using HIPAA-compliant video platforms designed to protect privacy and confidentiality. In accordance with ethical standards and best practices, sessions are not conducted through platforms such as Skype or FaceTime, as confidentiality cannot be reliably ensured through those services.
Teletherapy services are provided by licensed clinicians within One-Eighty Counseling and are available to clients located within the state of North Carolina, in accordance with provider licensure requirements.
Insurance and Coverage Information
Many insurance plans now recognize the need for teletherapy and may provide coverage for video-based sessions. Coverage varies by plan and carrier, and teletherapy benefits are typically limited to secure video-based appointments.

Clients are asked to complete a brief form so coverage can be reviewed and appropriate next steps can be discussed.
