Anna Christopher
LCSWA
Anna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who earned her Master of Social Work at North Carolina State University (NCSU). While studying for her master degree, she worked at NCSU’s student center for LGBTQ+ students, focusing on advocacy work, education, and student support. Prior to transitioning to the role of outpatient therapist, she worked predominantly in the inpatient psychiatric setting, with adults experiencing mental health crises and substance use disorders. She also has experience working with Autistic youth.
In the therapy space you can expect her to use Carl Rogers’ person-centered approach, centering each individual client in their own therapeutic journey. The therapy experience is different for everyone, and through this approach she builds a supportive therapeutic relationship with her clients that fosters an empathetic space for growth and self-actualization. In practice, she incorporates a blend of evidence-based theoretical models, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
She works with adult individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, life transitions, and interpersonal relationship issues. She is a gender-affirming provider who will advocate for her clients as necessary in medical spaces. Her therapeutic space supports LGBTQ+ folks and identity exploration, Autism, and ADHD.
