Faith + Hope + Love

Leading From The Heart

I believe we all feel it. The intense heaviness from the past month, both nationally and locally. The shootings. Dear god, the shootings seem endless. Fear runs down my spine. Who is next? What is next? It’s affecting us all. Our clients, our families, our neighbors … ourselves. How are we showing up for our clients and others, when we feel the heaviness ourselves?

I’ve been pondering the question, “What are we putting our faith in?” It seems to me that since the “world broke” in 2020, there’s less faith in prior institutions that seemed to be steady pillars of strength. There is less confidence in systems like the medical community, the government, and political or religious leaders. So, who or what are we putting our Faith in? Who or what do we turn to when we feel fear and unsteadiness? Maybe previously, you turned to a neighbor or friend for wise counsel. But now, that even seems hard because so many citizens are divided on issues of national and global importance.

We all have faith. Even if you’re non-religious, you put your faith in something. Faith in your car to get you to your destination, or faith that your house will keep you safe at night. Maybe it’s yourself? Maybe you put faith in yourself. But even that feels hard, because intuitively you know you’re fallible. Even YOU will let yourself down.

So again the question remains, as the world feels fearful, even dreadful at times, where are you placing faith that you will be okay? What assures you that even when bad things happen, you will be okay ?

When you have Faith in something greater than yourself, you gain hopefulness. Leaning on something outside of you reassures you that you’re not in charge. And oddly, that can be comforting. If someone else, something Higher, or something more powerful than you is guiding this universe, then you can let go. This creates Hope. Hopefulness that it all will truly be okay. And where there is Hope, Love follows. If you feel hopeful, you can feel loving. Even loving towards those who seem unlovable.

We all need steadiness. We all need hopefulness. We all need Love.

And that’s why, Faith + Hope = Love.

Go with that this month ❤️

Be Well,
