Staci Ellsworth

LCMHCA

Staci is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2013, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2015. Prior to entering the counseling field, Staci worked as a registered nurse for six years in both medical-surgical and emergency room settings. She went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2024. Staci brings a calm, relatable, and down-to-earth presence to the room and doesn’t believe that therapy needs to be stiff or overly clinical.
Staci works with individuals and couples ages 18 and older. Drawing from her background as an ER nurse, she has a passion for working alongside healthcare professionals experiencing burnout and vicarious trauma. Additionally, Staci has a special heart for members of the military community and for women navigating perinatal and postpartum issues, PCOS, and infertility. She also particularly enjoys supporting college students and young professionals as they navigate the unique stressors and transitions of early adulthood.

Staci is a trauma-informed clinician and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She integrates EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based approaches to help clients process trauma, examine unhelpful thought patterns, and create meaningful, lasting change. When working with couples, Staci utilizes principles from the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), both of which are well-supported by research in improving relationship connection and communication.

Staci also enjoys working with clients who wish to explore issues related to faith and spirituality. She integrates clients’ spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process when desired, recognizing faith as an important source of meaning, resilience, and healing in many individuals’ lives.

Outside of the therapy room, you can find Staci enjoying a Starbucks coffee, boating on the ocean, watching NFL football with her husband, and keeping up with her two giggly little boys.
