LCMHCA
Selden Felts is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Teacher Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and later completed a Master of Education in School Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Before becoming a counselor, Selden worked as an elementary and middle school teacher, yoga teacher, and cross-country coach. These experiences gave her a deep appreciation for the challenges children, adolescents, and families face and continue to shape her compassionate, practical approach to therapy.
Selden works with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, relationship challenges, and other emotional or behavioral difficulties. She believes therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, connection, and each person’s unique strengths. She uses Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person Centered therapy to help clients develop meaningful skills and create lasting change.
When working with children, Selden values partnering with parents and caregivers to support growth both in and outside of the therapy room. Her goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to move toward the life they want.
Outside of work, Selden enjoys making memories with her family, spending time at the beach, reading, and connecting with friends.
