Scott Bass

LMFT, LCAS-A

Scott Bass is a skilled and seasoned therapist who has served in multiple clinical settings. He holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University as well as a Master of Divinity.

Scott believes good therapy requires someone who listens deeply, asks good questions, and provides guidance as needed. He is a person-centered, trauma-informed therapist who seeks to meet clients where they are and help them move into a better place. He works with his clients to create a safe, compassionate and brave space for exploring themselves and their relationships. He is comfortable integrating spirituality into therapy when requested by the client.

Scott works collaboratively with individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions and losses. He believes that opportunities for growth and positive change hide within every life challenge. He is skilled at helping people with life balance, stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss (including sudden traumatic loss and complicated grief), addiction, spiritual and vocational issues, relationship strain, marital issues, divorce, chronic illness, life with aging parents and more. He works well with people from a wide variety of life experiences.

Scott’s approach to therapy is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Enneagram and more.

Scott is a native of eastern North Carolina and lifelong resident of the state. When not working he enjoys time on the beach, walking, fishing, gardening, and playing pickleball. In addition to clinical work, he has extensive experience providing workshops and retreats, facilitating groups, public speaking and providing trainings.
