She focuses on individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, and stress management. She approaches the counseling processes with the belief that not one counseling approach works for everyone. Payton uses a person-centered approach to counseling but implements a wide variety of modalities depending on the client’s needs. Payton is trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sand Tray, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Foundations of Eating Disorder Treatment and weight Inclusive Care, and somatic work. Payton is passionate about coming alongside her patients to create a safe space for the client to gain their own mental and body awareness, recognize the next steps for growth, and process thoughts and feelings at their own pace.

Outside of work, you will find Payton spending time with family and friends, exploring outside, or reading a good book.
