Melissa Pellegrino

DSW, LCSW

Dr. Melissa Pellegrino specializes in treating adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, codependency, and women’s issues. She is actively engaged with clients in the treatment process and provides a nonjudgmental, welcoming environment to grapple with the tough issues they bring to each session.

Melissa has formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based models of treatment. She has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is working toward full certification. EMDR is a well-researched approach practiced across many countries, showing a reduction in symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, and depression. Using her knowledge and experience, Melissa creates a tailored plan to help clients gain the insights needed to move toward the action phase of the change process.

Dr. Melissa Pellegrino has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for over 20 years. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and her Doctor of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Additionally, Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). She continues to expand her knowledge in trauma, clinical supervision, and leadership. Melissa also enjoys mentoring and supervising associate-level social workers as a way of paving the path for future clinicians.
