Melissa Pellegrino

Dr. Melissa Pellegrino has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LSCW) for over 15 years. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University at Albany and her Doctor of Social Work credential from the University of Southern California. She is also a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). She continues to expand her knowledge in trauma, clinical supervision and leadership.

Melissa specializes in treating adults struggling with depression, anxiety, bereavement, trauma, life transitions and codependency issues. She is active with clients in the treatment process and provides a non-judgmental, welcoming environment to grapple with the tough issues her clients bring to the session.

Working with diverse populations in various treatment settings throughout her career, Melissa has a number of treatment modalities to draw from to ensure treatment is tailored to her client’s goals. She has formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) models of treatment. She also recently completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and is working towards full certification. EMDR is a well-researched therapy that has been practiced across many countries showing a reduction of symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, depression, etc.

Melissa also enjoys mentoring and supervising MSW interns as a way of paving the way for future clinicians.
