April is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1998. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work, Health and Aging Concentration, from East Carolina University and her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University. April earned her Certificate of Clinical Supervision from NASW-NC and enjoys mentoring master’s level students and new mental health clinicians.

April has experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families in both acute inpatient and outpatient medical settings and inpatient and outpatient mental health and detox settings. April works with clients struggling with various issues such as depression, anxiety, mood swings, grief/loss, life transitions, chronic illness, self-esteem, and relationship issues. April practices from a Person-Centered perspective using evidenced-based practices which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and others tailored to each individual’s unique needs. April incorporates mindfulness and stress management techniques to enhance client outcomes. April creates a safe and non-judgmental space with culturally responsive interventions and has experience with clients from diverse backgrounds.

April’s focus in the collaborative therapy experience is strength-based. By empowering personal growth, fostering hope and resilience, April works with you on your journey toward health and wellbeing.
