Aneya Harris Gibbs

Aneya Harris Gibbs is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA). Aneya obtained both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from North Carolina Central University (NCCU). With her Master’s education, Aneya worked as a Family- Centered Treatment Therapist providing home and community-based services for at-risk youth and their families. Aneya has 19 years of experience in the mental health field and has worked as an Intensive In-Home team lead and Therapist, School-based Therapist, Social Worker for homeless persons, and Group Home Manager. Whilst at these agencies, she provided Mental health care via treatment planning, case management, discharge planning, crisis management, clinical assessments, and intervention development for children, adolescents and their families.

Aneya enjoys working with adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and gender identity. Aneya believes in creating an environment based on the following A.C.T principles: Accountability, Confidentiality and Transparency. Aneya believes that these principles create an environment that promotes authentic client engagement and establishes a healthy therapeutic relationship. Aneya utilizes several approaches when engaging with adolescents including cognitive behavior therapy, strengths-based, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and narrative therapy. Aneya believes that adolescents thrive in environments that are judgment-free and authentic, which is why she chose to work with this population. Aneya believes that her energetic personality, positive attitude and free spirit are attributes that enhance her therapeutic practice.
