Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. She earned her Master of Arts in Counselor Education from North Carolina Central University in 2010 and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Meredith College in 2008.
Michelle has experience providing counseling to children, adolescents, and adults in both school and clinical settings. She supports clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, family and life transitions, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and interpersonal challenges. Her background in school counseling and more than ten years in education has given her a strong foundation in developmentally responsive care, family collaboration, and supporting clients’ social-emotional well-being.
Michelle’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, warm, and person-centered. She draws from evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), to provide individualized care that aligns with each client’s unique needs and therapeutic goals. She also incorporates somatic practices to encourage greater awareness of the mind-body connection while offering practical tools for building self-awareness, strengthening emotional regulation, and creating lasting change.
Michelle believes meaningful therapy can make room for both deep emotional work and moments of warmth, humanity, and humor. Sometimes, laughing through the chaos can be part of healing. Whether you are seeking relief from anxiety, working through trauma, grieving a loss, or navigating a difficult life transition, Michelle’s goal is to help you feel heard, empowered, and supported as you move toward greater peace and well-being.
