Amanda Pugh

Amanda is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). Amanda has been working in the field of substance abuse and mental health counseling since 2016. Amanda graduated from East Carolina University with her master’s degree in Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling.
Amanda has been a supportive therapist for 7 years and has experience working with co-occurring disorders. Amanda has primarily worked with alcohol use disorders, opioid use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders and bi-polar disorder throughout her career. Amanda believes that recovery from any hang-up, strong-hold or addiction is possible, and she is here to support, encourage and validate her clients through that journey.
Amanda has also worked with mental health diagnoses to include anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder and other mood disruptive disorders that hinder an individual’s ability to function. Amanda will utilize solution focused therapy to help bring out strengths and increase self-efficacy. Amanda also utilizes CBT to help combat negative thoughts and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help increase motivation and set goals. Amanda enjoys working with individuals who are having interpersonal issues and problems within the relationship. Amanda enjoys helping clients learn how to better communicate. Amanda is passionate about therapy being person-centered as each person has their unique needs and desires. Amanda is a Christian and will incorporate faith-based principles into her clients counseling sessions if that is what they are desire.
Amanda is inquisitive and ask questions to gain under I will ask questions to gain an understanding of your situation. A priority of mine is to allow a safe place for patients to process their thoughts and feelings.
Amanda enjoys spending her time writing, reading and spending time with friends and family in the sun.
