Yuri Sklad

MA, LMFT, RPT

Yuri is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). He received his Master’s degree in Family Life Education from Fuller Theological Seminary and post-graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel University. Yuri has experience working with people of all ages: children, adolescents, and adults. His areas of clinical focus include working with individuals who have experienced trauma/PTSD, anxiety, attachment/relational difficulties, behavioral issues, social skills deficits, compulsive sexual behavior (sex addiction), and parenting challenges. Yuri collaborates with individuals to foster self-awareness and self-regulation in an integrative and somatic (body-centered) way.

Yuri utilizes an integrative approach and draws from a variety of modalities to fit the needs of individuals including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. He is trained to provide Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that utilizes eye movements to address symptoms of trauma.

When working with children, Yuri uses play therapy. He has received specialized training in the use of Trauma-Focused Integrative Play Therapy (Gil); Boundary Project Assessment and Treatment Program for children and adolescents with sexual behavior problems (Gil & Shaw); Attachment, Regulation, and Competency model (ARC); Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); and the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS).

Additionally, he provides pre-marital counseling (PREPARE/ENRICH certified) and received Emotionally Focused Therapy training.
