Steve Sapienza


Steve has worked with adolescents as a School Social Worker for the last 18 years and as a mental health clinician for 8 years in the Wake county area. He enjoys working with adolescents using an authentic, warm and non-judgmental approach. He views the adolescent years are often an opportunity to help guide clients through the transitions and challenges of this time of life. Steve’s approach encourages insight, self-reflection and examining life patterns for growth. He adapts his approach to each client’s unique needs while providing individualized and adhering to evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solutions-Focused Therapy . Steve’s focus is working with adolescents and their parents or families dealing with gender issues, anxiety, depression, addiction, and grief. Steve offers spiritually integrated therapy upon request of the client . It is his hope that the clients’ therapy experiences foster self-empowerment, healthy communications and ownership of emotions. Steve received his bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Northern Illinois University and his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. He is licensed through the State of North Carolina as Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
