Jessica Swean
MSW, LCSW
Jessica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned both her Master’s degree in Social Work and her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Jessica has over 18 years of experience working primarily with adults and families in a variety of settings such as acute inpatient hospital (mental health and detox), group homes, managed care, and most recently in assisted living facilities. Jessica works with adults and families who are struggling with various issues such as mood, anxiety and bipolar disorders, significant life changes/stress, occupational stressors, chronic illnesses, relational problems, low self-esteem, stress and anger management and care-giver stress/burnout. Jessica has a special interest in working with women who are struggling with infertility and maternal health issues, as well as working with individuals and families dealing with grief and end of life issues. Based on each individual’s unique needs and situation, Jessica incorporates evidenced based practices which include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Solution Focused, Psychodynamic, and Strength-Based Therapy.
Jessica’s main focus during the therapy session is to provide each person with a safe space where they can openly explore their thoughts and feelings, while emphasizing their strengths to help empower and instill hope. Jessica believes that every person is capable of making the changes they desire to live a more fulfilling life.
