Gayla is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate. She earned her master’s degree from Webster University and is a doctoral student working on her PhD in General Psychology from Walden University.
Gayla uses a holistic approach to help guide clients on a path to achieve lasting recovery from addiction, depression, anxiety, and other mental health struggles. Using evidenced based therapeutic approaches of Motivational Interviewing and Reality Therapy, she is dedicated and compassionate in meeting individual client needs. Gayla’s genuine and empathetic approach allows her clients to reach their highest potential.
Encompassing six years of experience in the therapeutic setting, Gayla treats adults, children, adolescents, and couples. She also has extensive knowledge and experience working with military veterans, PTSD, Combat PTSD, Moral Injury and TBI. Her other specialties are anger management, trauma, grief and loss, relapse prevention, and personality disorders.
Gayla is also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Treatment (SAIOP) and providing DWI classes.
