Eliza Harris
LCMHCA, NCC
Eliza is a licensed clinical mental health counselor associate (LCMHCA) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She received her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and a certificate in expressive arts therapy from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Eliza has specialized training in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and queer-inclusive mental health care. She is passionate about creating a space for folks who hold marginalized identities to receive welcoming and affirming mental health care.
Eliza’s other clinical focus is on supporting folks who have experienced trauma and works to support those folks as they create the life they want. She believes firmly in the power of expressive arts and creativity. Eliza approaches therapy from a feminist/multicultural lens, meaning that she looks at broader systems that may be impacting your experience. You are the expert of your life and are in charge of your therapeutic experience. Eliza provides a non-judgmental space to lay down your burdens, if only for a moment.
A native of North Carolina, Eliza is returning to the triangle area after being gone for almost 15 years. She spends a lot of time reading, hiking, refinishing furniture and taking care of her dog, Dallas.
