Devin Malik

MSW, LCSW

Devin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned both her Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work degrees from North Carolina State University. Her approach to therapy is from a strengths-based, empathetic, and non-judgmental stance. Devin’s professional experience includes clinical work in an inpatient psychiatric facility, community mental health, medical social work, and outpatient therapy. Devin enjoys working with people who have experienced/are experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, stress, life transitions, and other mental health experiences.

Devin brings a humanistic, client-centered, approach to all of the care she gives. She deeply believes in unconditional positive regard for the client. Devin has experience working with diverse populations of various socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. She is in the process of completing an EMDRIA-approved Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing training program with the intent to pursue full certification to become a certified therapist in EMDR. She incorporates other various evidence-based theoretical models through an eclectic approach including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

She believes the best kind of therapy stems from a strong therapeutic relationship. For this reason, she focuses on creating a safe environment to effectively process emotions and thoughts while also developing healthier thought processes and coping skills. She acknowledges that therapy looks different for everyone and looks forward to collaborating with you to meet your personal counseling needs and goals!
