Amanda Harwell

LCSW, LCAS, PMH-C, MPH

Amanda is dually licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Addictions Specialist. She is also certified in Perinatal Mental Health. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned Master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Health- Maternal & Child Health. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at North Carolina State University.

Amanda has worked in nonprofit, community mental health, perinatal substance abuse, and primary care settings providing mental health therapy to children, adolescents and adults. She is trained and experienced in providing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT. Most recently, she has completed training through Postpartum Support International and earned certification in Perinatal Mental Health.

Amanda approaches therapy from a holistic perspective considering a person’s history, experiences, and current goals for themselves while assisting them in creating or improving balance and overall wellness in their lives. She believes in being open-minded, non-judgemental and creating a positive space for clients to explore and get to know themselves better. She enjoys aligning and collaborating with clients as they work toward achieving their goals. Amanda is originally from North Carolina and enjoys the beach, listening to music, spending time with family, friends and her two dogs.
